In these recent years, the relationship between China and the western world has been closer than ever. The economic boom and cultural progress in China has been presented as a phenomenon in the western media. In many respects, this phenomenon has seemingly carried China to overcome the many barriers which were set by the ideological differences. However, this apparent fantasy is underlying invisible threatens and ignorance: As in the past, China is seen and treated as a social experiment rather than a real society with many individuals. This explosive age overshadows the daily existence of common people.

It is an effort to reveal more facts to assemble a true China composed of Chinese, than the statistic numbers and skyscrapers. The body of work is the vessel of my social responsibility as an artist and a Chinese. It is about the society where I rooted whether within China, or overseas of China.
